To ensure accurate measurements we suggest having a professional seamstress measure you.  If you do not get a professional seamstress to take your measurements you should follow this guide to ensure proper fit.

Bust - Not your bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. You must wear a bra when taking this measurement. 

Waist - This is the smallest part of your waist.  Typically it is an inch or so above your belly button.  Also known as the natural waistline.

Hips - This is the widest part of your hips, across the hipbone.  Measurement is taken approximately 7 inches below the natural waistline.  This measurement is not needed for full gowns.

Hollow to Hem - This is the length from your hollow (the hollow just under your neck) to your heels.  Position the tape in front and stand upright with your bare feet together.

Always get someone else to take the measurements for you: measuring yourself will give inaccurate numbers and could lead to disappointment.

Measure around the highest part of your chest directly under the arms.  Your arms should be relaxed and down at your sides.

Bust - Not your bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Your arms should be relaxed and down at your sides. You must wear a bra when taking this measurement.

Measure directly underneath the breasts (around the chest).

Measure around the fullest part of your tummy keeping the tape measure a little loose for comfort.

Hips- This is the widest part of your hips, across the hipbone. Measurement is taken approximately 7 inches below the natural waistline. This measurement is not needed for full gowns.

Hollow to Hem- This is the length from your hollow ( the hollow just under your neck ) to your heels. (Measure in the front while in bare feet ). You should stand upright and your feet should be kept together.

Always get someone else to take your measurements; don't try to measure yourself.  Take your measurements over a single layer of clothing (like a shirt) for a better fit.
Take care that the measuring tape is not too tight when you measure.  For best results, the tape should be slack enough to easily rotate around your arm, but tight enough so that it won't easily slide up and down your arm.

Take a skin tight measurement around your neck, just below your Adam's apple.

This measurement should be taken just under the arms, closely around the body.

Measure closely around the body at your natural waist level.

With both arms down by your side, take the measurement from the tip of the left shoulder point, along the top of the shoulder just below the base of the collar, to the tip of the right shoulder.

Measure down the back from the base of the collar to the length required.

With arm relaxed at side and elbow slightly bent, measure from center back of neck, over point of shoulder, and down outside of arm past elbow to wrist.

Measure around your hips and buttocks at their widest point on a pair of well-fitting trousers (not jeans).  Make sure your pockets are empty and the tape is not restrictive.
As a guide, you should not make the tape too snug.  You should only just be able to feel the tape when measuring.

Measure from the lowest part of the crotch of your trousers (not jeans), keeping the tape taut, down to where you wish the bottom of the trousers to end.  Please bear in mind the fit you want over the shoe as this will affect the desired length.
